What is your experience?
I have been studying photography for around ten years now. I started Shane Edwards Photography in 2013. I have attended several workshops as well as continued study to stay up to date on all of the latest techniques and practices. With a lot of hard work and practice I have developed a fun, natural and romantic style.
What is your style?
Shane Edwards is an Orlando Wedding Photographer who specializes in Portrait Journalism. I document every part of your day from getting ready to the last dance. My style is fun, natural and romantic. I do not just point and shoot, I make calculated decisions on if the image will be fun, natural and romantic. Most of your day I will be using journalistic techniques to document your beautiful wedding. I will also take a few moments out of each day to craft natural, authentic and beautiful portraits of you and your family.
What does your wedding coverage include?
We have carefully constructed three collections that we feel will meet most couples needs. All of our collections include at least 7 hours of wedding day photography, an online gallery and high resolution jpeg files of your wedding day images via download. I have collections that include albums, engagement sessions and several other options are available a la carte. You can contact me for current pricing.
How long will you be at my event?
This depends on how long you have hired my services. I recommend that I start at least 60 to 90 minutes before you put on your dress. This allows me time to document all of your getting ready moments as well as your details of the wedding. I will also try to arrive at the venue at least 30 minutes before any guest arrive. This start time will vary depending on your event details. If you are having a first look or family portraits before the ceremony your start time will need to be adjusted. I typically end up leaving about an hour before the reception ends. If you are having a grand exit I would recommend increasing your coverage to at least 9 or 10 hours. If you have separate venues this may require additional hours as well.
Who will be at my wedding?
I will be your photographer. I will most likely bring my assistant to help with lighting and carrying gear. If you want you can also add a second photographer. Our Black Label collection includes a 2nd photographer.
What is the difference between an “assistant” and “second shooter”?
An assistant is there to help make everything go smoothly for all involved. They help me carry equipment, set up gear and keep things organized. My assistant will have a camera and take some images, however I am not counting on their photos and may not even use them. A second shooter has been contracted to provide complimentary images to the primary camera.
Do you take family posed images?
Yes. I believe in those family images, as they are records of your entire family at an important time in their history together. A few weeks before your wedding I will send you a survey covering the details of the day and among the other questions is a list of posed images – these are the family groupings that I traditionally photograph at each wedding. You will have space to write in your own additional groupings.
Do you accept a shot list?
I make it a priority to get to know every couple I work with. We have discussed what is important to you and what your expectations are. As for a shot list other than the family groupings I do not take shot list. I feel that trying to get every shot on a list will distract me from photographing the important aspects of your day. It is very helpful to know what important relatives and friends are coming to your day, and if any events bear special significance.
How do you back up my images?
All of my cameras have dual memory card slots. So every image is backed up as soon as it is taken. I keep all of my memory cards on my person in a pelican card case until I get home. Once I get home I will copy all of your images onto a portable hard drive and my computer's hard drive. I will not format your memory cards until I have closed out your account. Your final images will be uploaded to an online gallery where you are able to download your own personal back up.
Are the images edited before we get them?
Yes, I do. Every image that you receive has been color corrected and cropped if needed. I will often select a few favorites for special attention above and beyond the individual image editing.
Do we get the digital files?
Depending on the collection you have purchased your edited high-resolution digital files may be included. They are always available for purchase individually. When the files are released to you, we will provide you with a list of resources from which to get quality prints if you so desire. We do retain the copyright to the images and the right to use them for promotional purposes, competition, professional review, and so on. If you need we are glad to provide you with a written release that will allow you to make unlimited personal reproductions and copies for your friends and families.
Can I print my own photos?
Absolutely! All of our collections include downloadable Jpeg files. These are high resolution files and can be printed anywhere for personal use. I retain all copyrights to every image and reserve any commercial use for myself.
When can we expect to see our photos?
You will see your photos in Six weeks or less.
How are my images delivered?
Your images are delivered beautifully via an online gallery. Once your images have been edited and are ready for delivery I will upload them to your custom gallery. You will be able to download your high resolution Jpeg files from this gallery. You can also purchase prints from a professional lab through the gallery. Your friends and family can view and purchase your images as well. To share your gallery simply share the provided link.
How many images will be delivered?
This is one of the most common questions we receive. Unfortunately it is a complicated answer with several factors. Some of the factors are how many hours we are there. If you have a second photographer you will have more images. The length of your ceremony will factor in as well. A larger family will change the amount of images. As a rule of thumb I say approx. 50 to 80 images per hour of coverage will be delivered.
Do you travel?
Where are we going? I am always up for an adventure! Travel fees may apply depending on if we need to fly anywhere and stay the night. If I can drive there in less than two hours there is no travel fee.
Do you photograph same sex marriages?
Yes, absolutely we will! Every client get 100% of my attention to detail and luxurious client services.
Do you have any hidden cost?
While not exactly hidden, I do collect 6.5% for local Orange County Sales Tax. All other cost are clear on our collection pricing.
How much do you require to hold our date?
A $500.00 (not refundable) deposit is required to hold your date.
When is the balance due?
The balance is due 30 days prior to your event.
How can I pay you?
I accept credit card through square, check, or cash
Do you have insurance?
Yes, I am insured. Just let me know as soon as possible if your venue requires proof. Most would need this a few months before your event. Be sure when booking your venue for your wedding to ask if they have any special insurance or other requirement from you photographer
Do you use professional equipment?
I use professional level Nikon camera and lenses. I will also have back up equipment at every wedding.
Can you hold a date for me?
I am sorry but we do not pencil in a day. You must have a signed contract and retainer payment. Bookings are accepted on a first come first serve basis.
What is your payment schedule?
A booking retainer fee of $500.00 is due when the contract is signed. The remainder is due 30 days prior to your wedding date. Retainer fees are non-refundable.
Can we meet you?
Of course, I would recommend that we meet. I would love to chat about your day and show you some sample wedding albums. Please feel free to call, text or email me to schedule your free consultation.
What if you are sick, or cannot make my wedding?
If I am sick, I will still be at your wedding, however short of an emergency with my wife and children I will be at your wedding. If for some reason I cannot photograph your wedding My contracted assistant photographer will be there. I am also a member of several local communities where I could get a helpful hand if needed.
